In the same land that hosts beluga whales and polar bears comes an amazing phenomenon that illumines the dark winter skies: the northern lights. Churchill has some of the most intense auroral activity on Earth, with often-clear skies that make it the ideal viewing destination. Look for the lights from a selection of six heated vantage points exclusively for guests, including the custom-built Aurora Pod® with a 360-degree view of the night sky through its glass top and sides, a cabin deep in the boreal forest accessed via private snowcoach over a frozen creek, and cozy domes.
While nights are dedicated to watching shimmering curtains of color across the Arctic sky, daytime activities focus on distinctly northern adventures and local cultures. Experience the thrill of dog sledding through the boreal forest, track subarctic wildlife on a snowshoeing outing, and learn about the region's rich heritage at the Itsanitaq Museum and through cultural programs featuring the arts and traditions of the Inuit, Dene, and Métis peoples. Combining warmth and comfort at private viewing sites with true northern wilderness, this journey offers an incredible subarctic adventure.
