Day 1: All Aboard in Reykjavik!
Embarkation and sailing toward totality
After safety briefings, you will set sail from Reykjavík toward totality in East Greenland. The city is known for its cultural landmarks like Hallgrímskirkja Church, Nordic cuisine, and lively shopping.

Day 2: At Sea, Crossing the Denmark Strait
Preparing for the eclipse
Crossing the Denmark Strait, a narrow passage between Iceland and Greenland, which teems with rich marine life. Onboard experts guide guests in safely viewing the eclipse and share insights on ecology, geology, and wildlife.

Day 3: Eclipse Day, East Greenland
Witnessing the total solar eclipse
The Ocean Albatros anchors beneath the eclipse’s center line off the Blosseville Coast. Guests disembark by Zodiac to prepare for the celestial show. Witness the stunning “Diamond Ring” effect at 17:40, followed by a gala dinner.

Day 4: Along the Blosseville Coast

Sail south along Greenland’s Blosseville Coast, a rugged, uninhabited landscape shaped by volcanic activity. If conditions allow, you may land in this region first surveyed by explorer Ejnar Mikkelsen.

Day 5: Tasiilaq, East Greenland

Visit Tasiilaq, East Greenland’s largest settlement on Ammassalik Island. Meet sled dogs, experience drum dancing, hike tundra meadows, and visit the Stunk Artist’s Workshop, which celebrates the local art form of the tupilak.

Day 6: Skjoldungen/Saqqisikuik
Remote and uninhabited fjord
Explore Skjoldungen (Saqqisikuik), a stunning, remote, and uninhabited fjord on Greenland’s southeast coast. Surrounded by breathtaking peaks, you may land to explore or cruise by Thryms Glacier.

Day 7: Prins Christian Sund and Appilaattoq
The world’s most spectacular waterways
Sail through the spectacular Prins Christian Sund, a 60 km iceberg-filled strait linking East and West Greenland. In the afternoon, reach Aappilattoq, a small, remote village known for its traditional lifestyle, hiking, and local choir.

Day 8: Tasermiut and Uunartoq
Geothermal springs and Norse exploration
Visit Tasermiut Fjord, known for its towering granite cliffs and fertile valleys. Later, sail to Uunartoq Island to relax in geothermal springs with views of drifting icebergs.

Day 9: Qassiarsuk and Itilleq Kujalleq
Erik the Red’s farm and Norse ruins
Cruise through Tunulliarfik Fjord to Qassiarsuk, the modern village sitting on the site of Erik the Red’s 10th-century farm, Brattahlíð. Hike from nearby Itilleq to Igaliku and the ruins of Garðar, the seat of Norse Greenlandic power.

Day 10: At Sea, En Route to Nuuk

Sail north along the rugged western coast, facing the Davis Strait. Warm Atlantic currents enrich these waters, attracting whales, seals, and many seabirds.

Day 11: Nuuk, Capital of Greenland
A singular blend of ancient and contemporary
Visit Nuuk, Greenland’s capital. Explore its culture and history at the National Museum (home of the Qilakitsoq mummies) and the Katuaq cultural center.

Day 12: Kangaamiut and Evighedsfjorden
Traditional life and The Eternity Fjord
Arrive in Kangaamiut, a village where traditional hunting and fishing shape daily life. Guests can hike for panoramic views. In the afternoon, venture into Evighedsfjorden (“The Eternity Fjord”) by Zodiac, cruising past majestic glaciers and dramatic bird cliffs.

Day 13: Kangerlussuaq Disembarkation
Conclusion of the voyage
Sail up the 160 km Kangerlussuaq Fjord and disembark by Zodiac. Kangerlussuaq is the perfect place to end this thrilling expedition.
