This in-depth summer voyage takes you around Svalbard, Europe’s last great wilderness, where nature reveals its most dramatic spectacles. From walrus haulouts on remote beaches to the colossal Austfonna ice cap, the journey explores landscapes shaped by ice and history alike.
Wildlife is at its most visible during this season: polar bears roaming the sea ice, whales surfacing along upwelling zones, reindeer grazing on tundra, and Arctic foxes venturing from their dens. Accompanied by expert guides, you will embark on Zodiac cruises, cultural site visits, and hikes, making the most of every hour of Arctic daylight.

Day 01
Embarkation in Longyearbyen
Depart Longyearbyen at 4pm, sailing past Fuglefjella (Bird Mountain), a striking plateau mountain landscape.

Day 02
Poolepynten
Landing at Prins Karls Forland to see a walrus colony and burial site.

Days 03–04
Ny-Ålesund and Northwest Svalbard
Visit Ny-Ålesund Research Station, the world’s northernmost year-round facility. Cruise and land at Kongsfjorden to admire Kronebreen and Kongsbreen glaciers.
Continue to Smeerenburg, a former whaling station now home to walruses. Possible visit to Virgohamna, linked to North Pole airship expeditions, with visible remains of blubber ovens from the 1600s.

Day 05
Continental Shelf and Ice Edge
Sail along the shelf scouting for fin and blue whales, then explore the ice edge in search of seals, seabirds, and polar bears.

Days 06–10
Austfonna and Eastern Svalbard
Marvel at Alkefjellet bird cliff, nesting site for Brünnich guillemots. Take a Zodiac cruise at Storisstraumen and ship cruise by Bråsvellbreen, part of the vast Austfonna ice cap.
Sail through Heleysundet, land at Teistpynten near Hayesbreen glacier, and explore Edgeøya’s Kapp Lee headland for walruses, reindeer, Arctic foxes, and hunting relics.
Hike at Kvalvågen, notable for dinosaur footprints, and take a Zodiac cruise of Hambergbukta in southern Spitsbergen.

Day 11
Hornsund
Landing at Gnålodden with its bird cliffs and trapper’s hut. Sail back towards Isfjorden and Longyearbyen.

Day 12
Disembarkation
Arrive in Longyearbyen at 9am.
