Included

Experiencing the arrival of spring in Svalbard in May is a powerful event of extraordinary purity. During this time, the landscape transforms into a world of clear light and glittering ice, where the midnight sun gently bathes the snow-covered peaks. It is a privileged moment for wildlife sightings: polar bear cubs are still small, while Arctic foxes and reindeer retain their thick winter coats. Aboard the intimate M/S Sjøveien, travelers enjoy a deep connection with the wild nature, cruising among glaciers and landing in Zodiac boats to explore an environment that few manage to witness.

The expedition traverses the magnificent fjords of Spitsbergen's west coast, visiting bird sanctuaries like Alkhornet and historic polar exploration sites such as Ny-Ålesund and Danskøya. Each journey is unique and adapts to the movement of the fjord ice, allowing for the observation of seals and walruses resting on frozen platforms. With only 12 passengers, the experience is personalized, quiet, and respectful, minimizing the environmental impact on this fragile Arctic paradise.

Highlights:
Exclusive expedition for 12 passengers with 2 expert guides for total immersion.
Observation of Arctic wildlife in winter coats: bears, foxes, and reindeer.
Navigation through Hornsund and Bellsund among icebergs and glacier fronts.
Visit to Ny-Ålesund, the historic starting point for North Pole expeditions.
Zodiac cruises to get close to colonies of thousands of seabirds.
Hot tub on deck to relax after landings in the snow.

When traveling in extremely remote regions, your expedition staff must allow the sea, the ice and the weather to guide route and itinerary details.
