This voyage takes you from the Arctic landscapes of Spitsbergen to the striking wilderness of Bear Island and down to Tromsø, the gateway to the Arctic. Along the way, you’ll witness majestic glaciers, sharp mountain peaks, and the silence of the remote polar seas.

Your Expedition Team will guide Zodiac cruises and landings, share insights during lectures, and maximize your chances of spotting seals, whales, seabirds, and even polar bears. With flexibility at the heart of expedition cruising, each day offers something new to experience.

Day 1 – Longyearbyen, Svalbard
Largest town of the archipelago
Explore Longyearbyen, with attractions such as the Svalbard Museum and parish church. In the evening, the ship sails out of Isfjorden where the first minke whales may appear.

Day 2 – Hornsund Fjord
Pointed mountains and glaciers
Cruise among fjords surrounded by sharp peaks. Encounter glaciers, seals, bird cliffs, and possibly polar bears.

Day 3 – Bear Island
Remote landscapes and history
Sail to Bear Island. Weather permitting, land at Kvalrossbukta to see the remains of a whaling station, or explore shallow valleys such as Rendalen.

Day 4–5 – At Sea
Wildlife and Aurora Borealis
Look out for whales while sailing south. At night, enjoy chances to see the Northern Lights.

Day 6 – Tromsø
Gateway to the Arctic
Disembark in Tromsø, a historic Arctic exploration hub, with flights available to Oslo and beyond.

Landings are also subject to site availability, permits, and environmental considerations in accordance with AECO regulations. While sailing plans and landing slots are coordinated with AECO before the season begins, the Expedition Leader makes the final decisions during the voyage. Flexibility is essential on expedition cruises. The vessel’s average cruising speed is 10.5 knots.
