This voyage proposes a deep immersion into East Greenland during the latter half of September, an optimum time of year for witnessing the magical phenomenon of the northern lights. The navigation ventures into mythical Scoresbysund, the largest fjord system in the world, a labyrinthine natural network strewn with cathedral-size icebergs and steep mountainous landscapes. Utilizing an innovative expedition micro-cruise concept for small groups, the journey balances comfortable accommodations and spontaneous exploration, allowing passengers to experience the Arctic wilderness at its wildest with no queues or delays.
Shore landings and exciting Zodiac cruises provide excellent opportunities to spot Greenland's native wildlife, including musk oxen, Arctic foxes, Arctic hares, and reindeer in their natural habitats. The itinerary also features a visit to the remote settlement of Ittoqqortoormiit, one of the most isolated towns on the planet, offering genuine insight into the unique Greenlandic way of life and culture. When traveling in extremely remote regions, your expedition staff must allow the sea, the ice and the weather to guide route and itinerary details.
