As steel wheels roll along nearly 500 miles of track, the railroad offers reliable, regularly scheduled service connecting Alaska cities, towns and protected lands – from the larger hubs of Anchorage and Fairbanks, to the charming villages of Talkeetna and Seward, to the treasured wildlands of the Chugach National Forest and Denali National Park.
The Alaska Railroad travels along approximately 500 miles of track with three daily summer trains: the Coastal Classic to Seward, the
Denali Star to Anchorage, Talkeetna, Denali and Fairbanks, and the Glacier Discovery to Whittier, Portage, Spencer Glacier Whistle Stop and Grandview. The Hurricane Turn Flagstop Train runs Thursday through Monday out of Talkeetna during the summer, serving remote homes only accessible by rail.

DAY 1
Arrive in Winnipeg, Manitoba and settle in to your hotel. Clothing swap out will take place at 7 PM at your hotel, followed by a briefing at 8 PM where appetizers and a drink will be provided
DAY 2
This polar bear photography adventure begins with an early morning flight to Churchill, MB. Enjoy a town tour and lunch at a local restaurant.
Board the evening train to Chesnaye, then transfer to the Newborn Polar Bear Cub Lodge, assisted by your Expedition Leader.
DAYS 3-8
Spend these days observing polar bear mothers and newborn cubs as they explore their new world. Gain unmatched access to denning habitats in comfort via unique tracked heated vans, unlike any other polar bear tours. Wildlife viewing and photography, including caribou and ptarmigan, are also possible.
Enjoy a front-row seat of the dancing Northern Lights after dinner.
DAY 9
Take the early-morning train back to Churchill. Then, fly to Winnipeg and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 10
Depart Winnipeg for home.
