Photo Workshop More info about this activity
The photography workshops are composed of onboard lectures and practical activities led by dedicated expedition guide. Each session is meant to give you additional skills you can put into immediate practice out in nature.
You'll become more familiar with your own camera equipment while also learning best practices for taking pictures of moving wildlife and wide-open terrain in typical polar conditions, such as dim lighting and falling snow.

Expedition cruising must be one of the most incredible ways of travelling. Not only for the amazing places you visit and the unforgetable wildlife but for the wildlife, the sensory overload and the unimaginable memories.
But all of this needs a context in order to understand where you are and what you are experiencing.
On board your expedition vessell you will find a group of experts, naturalists, zodiac drivers and guides that that will translate the language of nature for you, telling you the stories of the places you are visiting, reviewing the historical, biological, ecological and geological aspects of your trips.
You will experience first hand what surrounds you and arrive back home wiser and loaded with new knowledge.

DAY 2 | YOUR ADVENTURE BEGINS
Fly from Winnipeg to Churchill, Manitoba. On arrival, transfer to a private charter aircraft waiting to whisk you away to our Polar Bear Cabins. This 45 minute flight offers tundra views and possible wildlife sightings. Our Polar Bear Cabins are strategically placed in “polar bear alley” for reliable polar bear encounters.

DAYS 3 – 5 | CAMP
Spend time observing and photographing polar bears and other Arctic wildlife, including Arctic hare, Arctic fox, pine martens, willow ptarmigan, snowy owls, gyrfalcons and wolverines in the wild, while admiring the stunning natural landscapes.
Safely see and photograph polar bears from groundlevel within the Polar Bear Cabins complex, from behind an unobtrusive electric fence, and our highly trained and seasoned Inuit guides will get you as close to polar bears as safely possible for extraordinary viewing and photographs.
Delight in the magical Northern Lights dancing above at night. Weather permitting.

DAY 6 | DEPART FROM CAMP
Capture a few last shots of the polar bear migration in the morning before flying back to Churchill where you’ll meet your Arctic Kingdom representative and transfer to your hotel to check in. Following checkin enjoy a heritage town tour of Churchill followed by a group dinner at a local restaurant. After dinner you will be treated to a Private cultural evening at a private yurt outside of town with a chance to see the Northern lights if the conditions are right. Transfer back to the hotel for a goods nights sleep.

DAY 7 | 4X4 SAFARI - DEPART FROM CHURCHILL
Wake up before dawn to witness the vast expanse of morning Arctic Stars. If you’re lucky, you may even get to witness the Northern Lights before you head off to enjoy a hot breakfast as a group at a local restaurant. From there, join a Private Polar Bear Safari around the Churchill area. On this half-day safari, taken in the safety and comfort of 4X4 vehicles you will be tracking these majestic animals. Your local guide will regale you with tales of polar bears and the people of Churchill. Here you will learn about the Canadian Inuit dogs, called qimmiq or qimmit in the local language, and how polar bears interact and use these dogs to their advantage in their search for food. After you depart Churchill, and arrive in Winnipeg either later afternoon or evening, where you will stay at a local hotel, you will find yourself sitting back reminiscing about stories filled with the beauty of the Arctic.

Rustic, remote and accessible by air, Polar Bear Cabins & Lodging rest on the shores of Hudson Bay. These simple cabins/lodges are surrounded by an electric fence, offering a comfortable and safe home in the heart of polar bear country. Allowing for a maximum of eight guests, with four guest cabins and a central dining/lounge cabin, the Polar Bear Cabins create a private and intimate polar bear viewing experience.
