DAY 1: Arrival
Approximate Distance: 50 km / 30 miles
The stops made each day (days 2 – 7) are generally between 1 or 1.5 hours of driving between each stop on the trip. Arrival at the next accommodation in the late afternoon.
Important: If you have booked additional nights in Reykjavík, prior to the start of the trip, please note that the guide will meet the group for the start of the tour on day 2 according to the standard “Wonders of Iceland” itinerary.
Arrival at Keflavík International Airport. Direct transfer to the hotel in Reykjavík by coach (without guide).
If you arrive early in Iceland you can add an activity to your trip. We will make suggestions according to your interests. One of our favorite things to do after a long plane ride is to visit one of the local geothermal pools. You may also be interested in walking through the old city center, visiting one of its museums or having a coffee in a cozy cafe.
Night in Reykjavík. Free night. Dinner is on your own. Reykjavík offers a multitude of restaurants and/or cafes, making dinner a great way to start getting to know Iceland's capital.
Important: Check-in time at most hotels in Iceland is between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. (2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.). Please note that an early check-in is not included in the price of this trip.
DAY 2: The Golden Circle and the South Coast
Approximate Distance: 305 km / 190 miles
National Park and its geological wonders – Geysir – Glorious Waterfalls
Breakfast at your hotel. Meet your guide at the hotel reception.
Start the day by visiting Þingvellir National Park, where the world's oldest parliament met for centuries, on the shores of Þingvallavatn, Iceland's largest lake.
It is driven through crop areas to reach the Geysir geothermal area where there are also solfataras and the famous Strokkur geyser, which erupts boiling water every 10 minutes. Finally, we visit the famous two-tiered Gullfoss waterfall, a spectacular visit.
Tour of the south coast of the island. This is one of the main agricultural regions of the country. During the tour you can see some typical Icelandic farms, often with Icelandic horses in the fields. Visit to the beautiful Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls. If trail conditions permit, you can walk behind the Seljalandsfoss waterfall. Continuation to the town of Vik.

DAY 3: Skaftafell – Jökulsárlón – Höfn
Approximate Distance: 305 km / 190 miles
Lava field – Glacier lagoon – Largest glacier in Europe
Breakfast at your hotel. You cross the largest lava region in the world Eldhraun and the sandy desert region of Skeiðarársandur. Continuation to the Skaftafell region, a site of great natural beauty, integrated into the immense Vatnajökull National Park. The name of the park comes from the Vatnajökull glacier, the largest in Iceland with about 8,000 square kilometers of area. Continuation to Jökulsárlón, a glacial lagoon where a 45-minute excursion by amphibious boat takes place that allows you to see the floating icebergs of this lagoon up close.
Right next to Jökulsárlón is a black volcanic sand beach known as Diamond Beach, where blue, white and transparent icebergs drift from the glacial lagoon and sit, offering a wonderful landscape.

Breakfast at your hotel. Departure towards the eastern fjords until reaching the Berufjörður fjord. You cross the Öxi mountain track. Arrival in the town of Egilsstaðir.
Tour of the Jökulsársheiði desert area and continuation to the Lake Mývatn region. Visit to Dettifoss waterfall and Skútustaðir craters.
Night in the Mývatn region. Dinner included.
DAY 5: Mývatn – Goðafoss – Akureyri

Breakfast at your hotel. Exploring the wonders of nature that the Lake Mývatn region offers us: the extraordinary lava formations of Dimmuborgir, the geothermal area of Hverarönd. Fauna and flora are also part of Mývatn's natural wealth. Visit Goðafoss, “Waterfall of the Gods.” Arrival in Akureyri, declared the capital of the north and one of the most beautiful cities on the island.

Breakfast at your hotel. Tour through the Skagafjörður district and the Holtavordurheidi plateau until reaching the picturesque Borgarfjörður region. Visit to the beautiful Hraunfossar waterfall and the most powerful thermal spring in Europe: Deildartunguhver.

DAY 7: The Snæfellsnes peninsula

Breakfast at your hotel. The Snæfellsnes peninsula is a unique area with a variety of geological attractions such as lava fields, volcanoes, glaciers, springs, beautiful lava formations, black sand beaches and lava caves. Known as the “essence of Iceland”, this area concentrates all the variety of Iceland's natural landscapes in the quiet and remote Snæfellsjökull nature park.
In this region is the Snæfellsjökull glacier, of which you will have a beautiful view during the day's tour. This glacier and the natural wonders that surround it inspired Jules Verne to write his famous novel “Journey to the Center of the Earth.”

Stroll along the city's main shopping street and discover its art galleries, craft and design shops. Take a walk along the city's promenades and enjoy the sea views. Take a visit to the beautiful Raufarhólshellir lava cave, located just 30 minutes from the capital, or go whale watching from Reykjavik port. There are numerous museums in the city to learn about both the history and the energetic art scene of the capital. One of our favorites is the interactive museum about the early settlements of the late Middle Ages in Reykjavík, the Settlement Museum, where you can see the excavation of a Viking house, considered the oldest in Reykjavík. Discover Iceland's hidden nature in an unusual way at FlyOver Iceland, an engaging interactive experience.
