Shore Excursion More info about this activity
Shore excursions are the backbone of almost all itineraries, with most ships making landfall at least once every day once they reach their destination. The weather plays a huge role in your daily itinerary, although given the sheer array of fantastic landing sites all over there are plenty of options your Captain and Expedition Leader can choose from. On-shore excursions allow you to visit scientific research stations, communities, prominent wildlife colonies and take hikes to elevated viewing points for fantastic photography.
Photo Workshop More info about this activity
The photography workshops are composed of onboard lectures and practical activities led by dedicated expedition guide. Each session is meant to give you additional skills you can put into immediate practice out in nature.
You'll become more familiar with your own camera equipment while also learning best practices for taking pictures of moving wildlife and wide-open terrain in typical polar conditions, such as dim lighting and falling snow.
Zodiac cruising More info about this activity
On board the Zodiac you will discover a world of possibilities; accessing the most exclusive landing sites, cruising the coast in search of wildlife or simply enjoying a tour in the calm of the polar regions in search of marine wildlife or bird colonies.
The blue ice an its intimate presence is experienced at its best on zodiac tours.
It is not uncommon to meet curious seals, or humpback whales feeding.

Hiking options include very easy beach hikes (good for photographers who need time for photography), easier short hikes, medium-difficulty extended hikes, and more challenging long hikes.
The human exploration of Scoresbysund is but a brushstroke upon a tremendous and exuberant canvas on one of the oldest places in the world. Tucked away high above the level of the Arctic Tundra, itself a very unforgiving landscape, lie the world’s largest fjords, some of which extend to over 240 miles in length. Sailing 70° north, only 20 degrees away from the North Pole, this expedition will take you on an invigorating and disconnected exploration far away from the stresses of the modern world. We propose to seek out its secrets, and reveal them, with you. With the expeditionary tradition of the past and the trappings of the future, an array of dramatic nature and Arctic wildlife awaits a small group of twelve amazing people, guided by an experienced crew, an adventurer, storytellers, and an expert leadership team.
This expedition promises to be as awe-inspiring as it is transformative. Day to day life on board is exciting yet easy-going: guests discuss the upcoming route over a hearty breakfast, plan daily activities, share life experiences, and keep binoculars close to hand while scouting for wildlife. The sailing route follows the conditions given by nature, ensuring the best use of time to glide past towering palaces of icebergs, anchor at old Inuit settlements like Hekla Havn, land on red sandstone shores, and hike remote archipelagos. Passengers will eat well, drink well, and live well, enjoying field photography guidance, editing sessions in the saloon, and a well-sized onboard sauna after cold polar excursions.

Day 1: Flight to Constable Point and Ittoqqortoormiit
Meet in Iceland and arrival at the isolated village
Meet at Reykjavik Domestic Airport in the morning for our special chartered flight to Constable Point, a wet (and sometimes dry) dirt airfield operation utilizing turbo-prop aircraft. Board S/V Linden and get an introduction from the Captain and crew before sailing towards the village of Ittoqqortoormiit, one of the world’s most isolated villages. The quaint little houses dot the rocky slopes of South Liverpool Land with magnificent views of Kap Brewster and the Volquart Boons Coast to the south.
Day 2: Sun Glacier and Hekla Havn
Sailing among drifting icebergs and old Inuit settlements
Experience sunrise at Sun Glacier. Sail west between palaces of icebergs that gently drift under the influence of the arctic waters. Anchor at Hekla Havn, on Denmark Ø, the site of an old Inuit settlement.
Day 3: Red Island and Harefjord
Landing on sandstone shores and navigating north to Harefjord
Get up close to the Red Island and land on the red sandstone shore. The journey continues north through Rødefjord which is often filled with ice crust. Sail down Harefjord in the late afternoon where anchors are set.
Day 4: Exploration in Harefjord
Scouting for regional muskoxen and polar wildlife
Spend the day on the south facing slopes of Harefjord scouting for Muskoxen, snow hares, grouse and other Arctic wildlife which normally graze in these areas.
Day 5: Deep Sailing Through Øfjord
Staggering granite walls rising 2000 meters from the sea
Sailing continues on day 5 heading deeper and eastwards through the awesome Øfjord, possibly the highlight of the trip. Staggering mountain peaks and granite walls rise 2000 meters up in either direction directly from the sea. We set anchors in Jyttes Havn in the late afternoon on this day.
Day 6: Jyttes Havn and Bear Islands
Hiking in the Arctic Riviera and cozy beach bonfire
Known as the Arctic Riviera, here we can hike in and around Jyttes Havn on the Bear Islands. With feet on the ground, you can really appreciate how special it is here. If conditions and time allow, we will tend a cozy bonfire on the beach.
Day 7: Channel of Bear Islands and Milne Land
Long sail as the archipelago fades into the distance
Sailing the channel between the Bear Islands and Milne Land with huge vistas of the archipelago as it fades away into the distance. By the end of this day, we are in position at Constable Point for the flight for following morning.
Day 8: Disembarkation and Flight to Reykjavik
Final aircraft boarding and return to Iceland
We disembark the sailboat for the last time and board the aircraft at Constable Point for our return flight back to Reykjavik. The adventures of the expedition begin to sink in and your life after Greenland begins. We say goodbye to each other, not forever, just for now!
