Itinerary is for guidance only; the final plan depends on ice and weather, as determined by the Expedition Leader.
This East Greenland expedition invites total immersion into the largest and deepest fjord system on Earth: Scoresby Sund. With mountains exceeding 2,000 meters and glaciers calving icebergs of cathedral proportions, the landscape is a constant reminder of nature's power. What makes this journey unique is the "Long Hikes" focus, allowing adventurers to spend entire days exploring the Hoffman Peninsula or Saakattaakajik, seeking muskoxen and Arctic foxes in areas where modern civilization seems like a myth.
In addition to trekking, the voyage covers historical and cultural landmarks, from Thule turf house remains to the settlement of Ittoqqortoormiit, where life is still governed by hunting and ancient traditions. We will navigate narrow channels like Turner Sound and Rømer Fjord, home to hot springs and elusive narwhals. At night, Greenland's remote waters offer the perfect stage for the dance of the Northern Lights, completing the ultimate Arctic experience.
Highlights:
Embark on epic 15 km hikes through wild tundra and high mountain landscapes.
Navigate among monumental icebergs in Scoresby Sund, some over a kilometer long.
Spot iconic wildlife: muskoxen, polar bears, and potential narwhals.
Visit Ittoqqortoormiit, one of the most isolated communities in the world.
