This is a micro cruise on the M/S Balto with a maximum of 12 passengers. The itinerary is an expedition cruise, so the route and destinations are flexible and subject to weather and ice conditions. The trip is a fly-cruise from Keflavik to Kulusuk, including a mandatory flight and hotel package.
Embark on a unique micro cruise to East Greenland, an undiscovered gem in the heart of the Greenlandic wilderness. This expedition focuses on the grand Sermilik fjord and its surrounding areas, which are still largely unexplored and offer magnificent hiking opportunities. You will be surrounded by a rugged landscape of towering mountains, magnificent icebergs of all shapes, and crystal-clear waters. The nutritious waters of the area provide a feeding ground for humpback and fin whales, and if you are lucky, you may encounter these giants of the sea.
From late August, this trip also offers the chance to see the magical Northern Lights dancing across the sky. You will gain a unique insight into the Inuit culture, their way of life, traditional practices, and cultural heritage, by visiting settlements like Tasiilaq, the largest settlement in East Greenland. This natural wonder of East Greenland is more than just a destination; it's a true experience of a lifetime, where you'll hear and see the thunderous calving of active glaciers and explore a surreal world of blue ice caves.
