Embark on a unique adventure to Churchill, Manitoba, known as the "Beluga Whale Capital of the World," traveling by train. This expedition, "Belugas, Bears, and Blooms by Train," combines an authentic train journey with immersive experiences in the subarctic tundra. You'll have the chance to be in the midst of hundreds of curious beluga whales as they migrate into Hudson Bay, with thousands spending the season in the Churchill River estuary. The journey is designed to be a complete summer adventure, where you'll witness the unique blend of wildlife, blooming subarctic tundra, and rich local cultural and historical experiences.

Beyond the beluga whales, you'll also explore the Churchill River Estuary by Zodiac, feel the thrill of dog carting through the boreal forest, and venture into the Churchill Wildlife Management Area aboard a Tundra Buggy® in search of subarctic wildlife. While in town, you'll learn about Churchill's past by visiting cultural museums, unique shops, and local restaurants. This adventure is a perfect blend of natural exploration and cultural immersion, offering a truly unique perspective on Canada's wild North.

Day 1: Arrival in Winnipeg
City tour and welcome reception
Arrive in Winnipeg and check into the Inn at the Forks hotel. Enjoy a city tour and a welcome reception hosted by a Frontiers North Adventures Interpretive Guide. You will stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Train to Churchill
Scenic views from VIA Rail
After breakfast, board the VIA Rail train to begin your journey to Churchill. Settle in and enjoy the scenic views as you travel. You will spend the night on the train in Sleeper Cars.

Day 3: Journey through Manitoba
Landscape changes and interpretation
Continue your train journey north. Keep your eyes peeled as the landscape begins to change, and enjoy the interpretations provided by your guide. You will spend another night on the train.

Day 4: Arrival in Churchill
Cultural presentation and area tour
Arrive in Churchill. You will take a guided bus tour of the area’s most notable sites, including the Polar Bear Holding Facility. Visit the Itsanitaq Museum and enjoy a cultural presentation from a local Churchillian. You will spend the night at a hotel in Churchill.

Day 5: Beluga whale viewing and Tundra Buggy®
Exploring the Churchill River and CWMA
Take a boat tour of the Churchill River for beluga whale viewing. Afterwards, enjoy an interpretive walking tour of the historic Prince of Wales Fort. In the afternoon, embark on a Tundra Buggy® Adventure in the Churchill Wildlife Management Area in search of wildlife. You will spend the night at a Churchill hotel.

Day 6: Zodiac ride and Parks Canada Visitor Centre
Underwater songs and local insights
Experience a guided Zodiac ride on the Churchill River for a second beluga whale viewing opportunity. Use a hydrophone to listen to the beluga whales’ fascinating underwater songs. You will also visit the Parks Canada Visitor Centre. You will spend the night at a Churchill hotel.

Day 7: Dog Carting and Departure
Boreal Forest adventure and flight to Winnipeg
In the morning, enjoy a dog carting and interpretive program, where you will learn about Métis culture and the history of dog sledding. You will then take an evening flight to Winnipeg, where you will stay overnight at a hotel.

Day 8: Departure from Winnipeg
Final farewell
Guests will depart from Winnipeg at their leisure.
