Stretching from Sorsele and Skellefteå in the province of Västerbotten, to the northernmost tip of Sweden, this arctic territory covers a quarter of the country. The sheer size and variety of terrain presents endless options for outdoor enthusiasts, from hiking and fishing to dogsledding and skiing.

The northernmost parts of Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Russia, also known as Sápmi, are the land of the indigenous population – the Sami people, who have lived here for thousands of years. The magnificent nature of Swedish Lapland may seem untouched, but for generations it has been
lovingly used by Sami, who divide the year into eight seasons. As a mark of respect for nature, they have named every valley and mountain peak.
