You will traverse the famous Seward Highway along the "Turnagain Arm" and reach Homer, known as the "end of the road" with picturesque views overlooking Kachemak Bay. Day 1: Anchorage, Alaska
Arrival and Rental Car Pick-up
Arrive in Alaska’s largest city, Anchorage, and pick up your rental car. A Milepost Travel Guide will be waiting for you upon check in at your hotel. Spend the overnight in Anchorage.

Day 2: Anchorage to Talkeetna
Scenic Drive and Optional Jetboat Safari
Head north to the colorful town of Talkeetna (approximately 3 hours, 112 miles, 180 km). Here, enjoy an optional scenic jetboat safari along the Susitna and Talkeetna Rivers. If the weather allows, you may catch a glimpse of Mount Denali. Overnight in Talkeetna.

Day 3: Talkeetna to Denali Park Entrance
Optional Flight Seeing and Drive North
This morning offers time for an optional flight seeing tour. Continue north to the Denali Park Entrance for your overnight (approximately 3 hours, 151 miles, 243 km).


Day 4: Denali National Park Exploration
East Fork Shuttle and Backcountry Hiking
Spend the day exploring Denali National Park on a shuttle bus to the East Fork area. This half-day bus trip is ideal for those looking to spend time hiking in the backcountry of the park. The journey offers scenic views and wildlife viewing opportunities while traveling over Sable Pass. Overnight near the Denali National Park entrance.

Day 5: Denali to Fairbanks
Drive to Interior Alaska
Depart Denali for an enjoyable drive to Fairbanks, a city located in the interior of Alaska, (approximately 3 hours, 125 miles, 201 km). Keep an eye out for wildlife and other photo opportunities along the way. Relax at your leisure in the evening. Overnight in Fairbanks.

Day 6: Fairbanks to Valdez
Cultural Sites and Trans-Alaska Pipeline Terminus
Explore Fairbanks this morning, home to the University of Alaska Museum of the North, one of Alaska’s premier cultural attractions. Depart Fairbanks and continue your journey on to Valdez, the terminus of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. Overnight in Valdez.

Day 7: Valdez and Prince William Sound
Glacier Views and Marine Wildlife
Valdez is the gateway to Prince William Sound. The day is free at your leisure to explore. Optional activities include a guided sea kayaking adventure among giant icebergs, or embarking by boat to view the abundant marine wildlife and calving glaciers. Overnight in Valdez.

Day 8: Valdez to Palmer
Scenic Drive to Matanuska Valley
Depart Valdez for the scenic Matanuska Valley. Overnight at Alaska Backcountry Cottages.


Day 9: Palmer and Matanuska Valley Activities
Outdoor Adventures and Knik Glacier
Explore the Matanuska Valley, which features abundant outdoor activities. Explore on your own with a hike, helicopter flight seeing, or an exciting airboat excursion to reach the face of the Knik Glacier. Overnight at Alaska Backcountry Cottages.

Day 10: Palmer to Seward
Seward Highway and Turnagain Arm
Head south along a scenic stretch of the Seward Highway, famously known as “Turnagain Arm” and named a national scenic byway. Optional stops en route include the Alyeska Resort Aerial Tramway, Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, or Begich Boggs Visitor Center at Portage Lake. Arrive in the seaside community of Seward for your overnight.

Day 11: Seward Exploration
Kenai Fjords, SeaLife Center, and Dog Sledding
Spend another overnight in Seward. The day is free to choose as much or as little as you’d like to do. Optional excursions feature cruising Kenai Fjords National Park, touring the Alaska SeaLife Center, helicopter dog sledding, Exit Glacier hikes, and more. Overnight in Seward.

Day 12: Seward to Homer
End of the Road and Kachemak Bay Views
Depart Seward and travel to Homer, the “end of the road”. Explore the “spit” area with raised boardwalks, sandy beaches, and picturesque views overlooking Kachemak Bay. Overnight in Homer.

Day 13: Homer Free Day
Bear Viewing, Ferry Tours, and Halibut Fishing
Enjoy a free day exploring Homer on your own. Choose from exciting options such as guided bear viewing, a ferry to Seldovia, or deep-sea fishing for the world-famous “Barn Door” Halibut. Overnight in Homer.

Day 14: Homer to Anchorage
Return Journey and Wildlife Spotting
Depart Homer for your return to Anchorage. Be sure to watch for Beluga Whales in Cook Inlet and Dall Sheep along the rocky cliffs on your way back. Overnight in Anchorage.
