Day 1: Ushuaia
Embarkation and sailing the Beagle Channel
Arrive in Ushuaia, a city nestled in the foothills of the snow-capped Martial Range. Board your boutique ship before departing for your journey through one of the most captivating wilderness regions of the world.

Days 2-3: Day at sea
Crossing the Drake Passage
Sea days offer stunning views of the passing ocean. Mingle with other passengers, enjoy the ship's observation decks, or head to the library. Get an expert’s view in one of the onboard lectures or perfect your photography skills.

Day 4: South Shetland Islands
Flora, fauna, and a slightly warmer climate
The proximity of the South Shetlands to Antarctica means that the fauna is different from Antarctica proper. Ferns, grasses, lichens, and native flora grow here.

Days 5-6: Antarctic Peninsula
Glaciers, icebergs, and snowy islands
Explore the Antarctic Peninsula, where most visitors live their Antarctica dream. See incredible scenery, like the photogenic Lemaire Channel. Shore excursions might include Mikkelsen Harbour, where Weddell seals haul out among gentoo penguins.

Visit the ice-covered volcanic Peter I Island, rarely visited by ships and claimed by Norway. This island is home to elephant seals, cape pigeons, and southern fulmars.

Remote polar refuge
Explore volcanic Shepard Island, an 11-mile stretch of wilderness near Grant Island off Marie Byrd Land’s unclaimed coast. The exposed northern shores provide sanctuary for chinstrap penguins and skuas in this remote polar refuge.

Day 14: Day at sea

Day 15: Bay of Whales
Amundsen’s historic base

Experience time travel first-hand as you cross the International Date Line, losing a day. Sailors celebrate the passing with the Ceremony of the Domain of the Golden Dragon.
