Day 1: End of the world, start of a journey
Ushuaia and the Beagle Channel
Your voyage begins in Ushuaia, Argentina, the southernmost city on the planet. Embarkation starts in the afternoon in this small Tierra del Fuego town. For the remainder of the evening, you will sail the mountain-fringed Beagle Channel, marking the start of our expedition.

Day 2: The winged life of the westerlies
Oceanic navigation
Several species of albatross follow the vessel into the westerlies. During the navigation, you can spot storm petrels, shearwaters, and diving petrels escorting our journey toward the Falkland / Malvinas archipelago.

Day 3: Finding the Falklands
A wildlife paradise
The Falkland / Malvinas Islands offer an abundance of easily approachable wildlife. We will visit Carcass Island, a rodent-free haven with incredible birdlife and endemic species. On Saunders Island, we will observe black-browed albatrosses, imperial shags, and rockhopper penguins.

Day 4: The seat of Falklands culture
Port Stanley
The capital offers Victorian-era charm with its colorful houses and English-style pubs. You can see several century-old clipper ships, silent witnesses to maritime history. Admission to the museum is included, covering the early settlement days up to the 1982 War.

Day 5-6: Once more to the sea
Crossing the Antarctic Convergence
En route to South Georgia, you cross the Antarctic Convergence, where the temperature cools considerably within a few hours. This phenomenon attracts a multitude of seabirds near the ship, including several species of albatross, petrels, prions, and skuas.

Day 7-10: South Georgia Journey
Serengeti of the Southern Ocean
We arrive at the South Georgia activity sites. Visit Fortuna Bay, home to king penguins and seals, where you can follow the final leg of Shackleton’s route to Stromness. Explore Salisbury Plain, St. Andrews Bay, and Gold Harbour, housing the largest king penguin colonies and breeding beaches for millions of Antarctic fur seals. In Grytviken, explore the abandoned whaling station and Shackleton’s grave.

Day 11: Southward bound
Sailing through ice
There may be sea ice on this route. At the edge of the ice, south polar skuas and snow petrels could join the other seabirds trailing the vessel as it pushes towards the South Orkney Islands.

Day 12: The scenic vistas of South Orkney
Shingle Cove and Coronation Island
Visit Shingle Cove, home to a large and vibrant Adélie penguin colony. Gravel beaches and metamorphic rock formations serve as key Antarctic wildlife sites, featuring nesting petrels and lounging elephant and fur seals.

Day 13-14: Entering the Antarctic
Monumental ice and whales
Enormous icebergs and a fair chance of fin whale sightings ensure there is never a dull moment. This is your best chance to spot Antarctic petrels. Depending on conditions, we aim to begin activities on the peninsula by the afternoon of day 14.

Day 15-16: Awe-inspiring Antarctica
The Weddell Sea and the White Continent
If ice conditions permit, sail into the Weddell Sea among colossal tabular icebergs. Possible stops include Paulet Island, with its large Adélie penguin population, or Brown Bluff in the Antarctic Sound, where you may set foot on the Antarctic Continent itself.

Day 17-18: Familiar seas, familiar friends
The Drake Passage
Your return voyage is far from lonely. While crossing the Drake, you are again greeted by the vast array of seabirds remembered from the passage south, though they will seem a little more familiar to you now.

Day 19: There and back again
Return to Ushuaia
Every adventure must eventually come to an end. It is now time to disembark in Ushuaia, carrying memories that will accompany you wherever your next adventure lies.
