You'll become more familiar with your own camera equipment while also learning best practices for taking pictures of moving wildlife and wide-open terrain in typical polar conditions, such as dim lighting and falling snow.

Sebastian was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he earned a degree in Tourism. He took a one-year mountain guide training course, climbing and hiking in different parts of Argentina. In 2000, he moved to Ushuaia, Argentina, where he became a tour guide in Tierra del Fuego. Concurrently, he worked on several vessels visiting sea mammals and birds colonies at the southernmost tip of South America. He sailed to many places, including the Mediterranean Sea, the Canadian Arctic, Svalbard, Antarctica, Argentina, Chile, and around the mystic Cape Horn. In 2002, he moved to England for almost two years, where he took different courses accredited by the Royal Yachting Association.
Sebastian has specialised in polar tourism and natural history. His first trip to Antarctica was on board a 36 ft (12 m) sailing boat, during this one-month voyage he developed skills on ice-navigation, and familiarised himself with the Antarctic Environment. He has led several expeditions to Antarctica on board different vessels, lecturing on Geography, Ice, and Antarctic History. Since 2008, he extended his polar experience to the Arctic, sailing in the Canadian Arctic, part of the Northwest Passage and Svalbard.

Often referred to as the Calving Glacier – as it is one of the country’s most active glaciers – if you explore Eqi you’re likely to see chunks of calving ice fall from the mass and into the water with a resounding crack. Lying only about 50 miles north of Ilulissat, you’re also surrounded by towering icebergs upon navigating the glacier.

Hiking, stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking can be found most anywhere for more active explorers. Nuuk’s cultural center Katuaq displays architectural prowess with a building designed to mimic the waves of the Aurora Borealis. You may find an opportunity to fish for cod or redfish and have it cooked for you at the gourmet restaurant Qooqqut Nuan.

Translating to “the beloved place” in the Greenlandic language, the village of Arsuk sits in the Sermersooq municipality where you may catch sight of the likes of snowy owls, kittiwakes and other Arctic birds. Breathtaking landscapes abound, such as the Arsuk Fjord Waterfall, a beautiful cascade flowing into shimmering green waters, and the Arsuk Glacier with its blue ice shelves. Exploring icy waters and tundra scenes alike, a Zodiac safari may bring you up close to icebergs and other majestic vistas. Make your way through town to learn about the locals’ Saqqaq culture and traditions.

Along the southern edge of Greenland sits the awe-inspiring Prince Christian Sound, also known as Prins Christian Sund. Snow-capped mountains on the horizon and borders of glaciers and icebergs make this a stunning waterway to navigate on an expedition. You may possibly make a landing in the tiny village of Aappilattoq, home to fewer than 100 people living in the colorful, yellow, red and blue, Nordic-style houses. Around the sound wildlife is abundant, with frequent sightings of fin, minke and blue whales, as well as bearded and ringed seals.
