The Antarctica Express Air-Cruise is an introductory and affordable 6-day expedition that offers a quick and total immersion into your Antarctic adventure. The journey begins in Ushuaia, Argentina, where you board your boutique expedition vessel and sail along the Beagle Channel towards Puerto Williams, Chile, before navigating south to the Drake Passage. By cruising the Drake Passage for a portion of the journey, you have the opportunity to attend an engaging program of lectures and presentations while observing magnificent seabirds, such as albatrosses and petrels, as well as whales.

After crossing the Antarctic Convergence and spotting the first icebergs, you will spend one full day reaching and exploring the South Shetland Islands. You will disembark by Zodiac for your first memorable shore visit to a penguin colony, taking advantage of the long Antarctic daylight. The expedition concludes with a scheduled flight from King George Island to Punta Arenas, Chile, avoiding the return voyage across the Drake Passage.

Day 1: Start of the air-cruise
Embarkation in Ushuaia and sail to Puerto Williams
In the afternoon, board your boutique vessel in Ushuaia, Argentina, at the pier. Sail along the Beagle Channel towards Puerto Williams, Chile , explore the surroundings before navigating south to the Drake Passage.

Day 2-3: Sail the Drake Passage
Sailing en route to King George Island
Cross the Drake Passage en route to King George Island, in the South Shetland Islands. Attend an engaging program of lectures and presentations. Watch for wildlife, including magnificent seabirds and different species of whales.

Day 4: Reach Antarctica
First shore visit to a penguin colony
After crossing the Antarctic Convergence, watch for the first icebergs and the first sight of Antarctic land. Sail in ice-filled bays in the South Shetland Islands. Board a Zodiac for your first memorable shore visit to a penguin colony. Exploration will continue well into the evening.

Day 5: Antarctica and scheduled return flight
Flight to Punta Arenas and hotel transfer
Upon reaching King George Island, disembark at Fildes Bay. Board a vehicle and transfer to the aircraft to fly back to Punta Arenas. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for the night. (Note: Meals in Punta Arenas are at your leisure and not included in the program).

Day 6: End of the air-cruise
Departure
After breakfast, a transfer takes you to the Punta Arenas airport for your onward flight.

Specifically, dinner in Punta Arenas upon return from Antarctica is not included.

Extra expenses (communication, laundry, souvenirs, etc.).
Gratuities.
Visas for Chile, Argentina and/or United Kingdom (for South Georgia), passport expenses, and any arrival and/or departure tax, if applicable.
Application for required entry permit to South Georgia (for the Antarctica & South Georgia air-cruise).
