Not only we travel from one point to another and find our shelter on board the ship we chose. We also enjoy from incredible scenery, landscapes and interactions that only our noble vessel can provide.
Everyday the Bridge Team navigates the ship to position ourselves on the best posible spots, looking for unique opportunities.
Many times, this includes sainig through narrow passages, on the vicinity of glaciers or entering bays and fjords only approachable from the ship.

Shore Excursion More info about this activity
Shore excursions are the backbone of almost all itineraries, with most ships making landfall at least once every day once they reach their destination. The weather plays a huge role in your daily itinerary, although given the sheer array of fantastic landing sites all over there are plenty of options your Captain and Expedition Leader can choose from. On-shore excursions allow you to visit scientific research stations, communities, prominent wildlife colonies and take hikes to elevated viewing points for fantastic photography.
Photo Workshop More info about this activity
The photography workshops are composed of onboard lectures and practical activities led by dedicated expedition guide. Each session is meant to give you additional skills you can put into immediate practice out in nature.
You'll become more familiar with your own camera equipment while also learning best practices for taking pictures of moving wildlife and wide-open terrain in typical polar conditions, such as dim lighting and falling snow.
Zodiac cruising More info about this activity
On board the Zodiac you will discover a world of possibilities; accessing the most exclusive landing sites, cruising the coast in search of wildlife or simply enjoying a tour in the calm of the polar regions in search of marine wildlife or bird colonies.
The blue ice an its intimate presence is experienced at its best on zodiac tours.
It is not uncommon to meet curious seals, or humpback whales feeding.

Expedition cruising must be one of the most incredible ways of travelling. Not only for the amazing places you visit and the unforgetable wildlife but for the wildlife, the sensory overload and the unimaginable memories.
But all of this needs a context in order to understand where you are and what you are experiencing.
On board your expedition vessell you will find a group of experts, naturalists, zodiac drivers and guides that that will translate the language of nature for you, telling you the stories of the places you are visiting, reviewing the historical, biological, ecological and geological aspects of your trips.
You will experience first hand what surrounds you and arrive back home wiser and loaded with new knowledge.

Sea kayaking is one of the highlights for any Polar Traveller, providing ice and weather conditions are assessed as safe by your Expedition Team.

Shaped by millennia of glacial forces, the Chilean fjords of Patagonia offer one of the world’s most spectacular expedition destinations. The journey begins in Ushuaia and navigates a dramatic maze of deep channels and remote valleys framed by towering snow-capped peaks. Sailing through the renowned Glacier Alley, part of a vast UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, travelers will admire massive ice walls plunging directly into the sea and explore the tidewater glaciers of the Cordillera Darwin icefield aboard Zodiac craft.
A major highlight of the itinerary is visiting Pío XI Glacier, the largest glacier in South America and a rare scientific anomaly that continues to advance year after year. The expedition combines scenic cruising with guided hiking opportunities through lush sub-Antarctic rainforests to spectacular viewpoints over glaciers such as Marinelli. Additionally, Zodiac excursions around the Tucker Islets offer close-up views of a thriving colony of over 4,000 Magellanic penguins, Chilean dolphins, and diverse seabirds in one of the most pristine environments on Earth.

Day 1: Arrival in Ushuaia

Arrival in Ushuaia and transfer to the hotel allocated by the expedition. In the afternoon, please visit the Aurora Expeditions desk in the hotel lobby to collect your luggage tags and receive details about the day of embarkation. The rest of the time is yours to enjoy the city.
Day 2: Embarkation day
Start of the Patagonian cruise
After breakfast and payment of your stay, your cabin luggage will be transferred directly to the port. Enjoy a free day in Ushuaia until your transfer to the embarkation pier. Once on board, settle into your cabin, attend the compulsory safety briefings and celebrate the start of the expedition with a welcome dinner whilst the ship sets sail through the Beagle Channel.
Days 3–10: Chilean Fjords
Exploring glaciers, channels and wildlife
Cruise through the stunning network of Chilean fjords and the Avenue of the Glaciers in the Darwin Range. We’ll explore Seno Agostini, Alberto de Agostini National Park and the Pío XI Glacier – the largest in South America and constantly advancing – by Zodiac. We’ll sail through the Strait of Magellan, spotting dolphins and native birds. In Almirantazgo Sound, we’ll take guided walks to viewpoints overlooking the Marinelli Glacier and cruise by Zodiac around the Tucker Islets to observe more than 4,000 Magellanic penguins. Weather permitting, we’ll attempt to go ashore at Fortescue Bay before attending the Captain’s reception.
Day 11: Punta Arenas
Disembarkation and end of the expedition
Morning arrival in Punta Arenas. After breakfast on board, disembark and say goodbye to the expedition team before taking your transfer to the airport for your return flights.

Arrive in Ushuaia and transfer to your assigned pre-voyage hotel. In the afternoon, visit the Aurora Expeditions hospitality desk in the hotel lobby to collect your luggage tags and receive briefing details regarding embarkation day. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
Day 2: Embarkation Day
Setting sail from Tierra del Fuego
Enjoy breakfast before checking out. Cabin luggage will be collected and transferred directly to the vessel. Spend the day at leisure until the scheduled transfer to the pier. Once on board, settle into your cabin, attend mandatory safety briefings, and join fellow expeditioners for a welcome dinner as the ship sails along the Beagle Channel.
Day 3–10: Chilean Fjords
Glaciers, remote channels and wildlife exploration
Navigate the maze of Chilean fjords and Glacier Alley in the Darwin Range. Explore by Zodiac in Seno Agostini, Alberto de Agostini National Park, and approach the Pío XI Glacier, the largest and fastest-advancing glacier in South America. Sail through the Strait of Magellan, spotting dolphins and seabirds. In Almirantazgo Sound, hike through sub-Antarctic rainforests to viewpoints overlooking the Marinelli Glacier and take a Zodiac cruise around the Tucker Islets to observe a colony of over 4,000 Magellanic penguins. Weather permitting, attempt a landing at Bahía Fortescue before the Captain’s Farewell Dinner.
Day 11: Punta Arenas

Arrive in Punta Arenas in the early morning. After breakfast on board, disembark and say farewell to your expedition team before transferring to the airport for your onward journey.
