Robert Island, south of King George Island, features Robert Point: a rocky shore offering great walks and photography. It’s a key breeding site for penguins and seals.
At the south of Robert Island, Robert Point is a volcanic tip, with a beautiful rocky shore for landings.
The rocky shore at Robert Point is nice for short walks, to enjoy bird life and the seals that are commonly hauled out: Weddell seals, Elephant and Fur seals. Brown skuas nests, as well as Chinstrap and Gentoo penguins breed on this site. Robert Point projects into the Bransfield Strait, the sea between the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula (the continent itself), offering beautiful photographic opportunities.
