Guided by polar photographer Virgil Reglioni, this journey offers unique opportunities to capture the Arctic’s beauty in one of its most evocative moments of the year.

Day 01
Departure from Longyearbyen
Depart Longyearbyen at 4pm. Sail past Fuglefjella (Bird Mountain), an impressive plateau mountain landscape.

Day 02
Smeerenburg and Virgohamna
Sail to Smeerenburg, a former whaling settlement now home to a walrus colony. Possible landing at Virgohamna, historical site of early North Pole expeditions, with remains of 1600s blubber ovens.

Days 03–05
Whales and the Ice Edge
Sail along the continental shelf, scouting for fin and blue whales that gather in the upwelling zones. Explore the ice edge, home to seals, seabirds, and polar bears.

Days 06–07
Alkefjellet and Austfonna
Marvel at Alkefjellet, a spectacular bird cliff with thousands of Brünnich’s guillemots. Take a Zodiac cruise to Storisstraumen and ship cruise past Bråsvellbreen, part of the Austfonna ice cap.

Days 08–09
Edgeøya and South Spitsbergen
Land at Kapp Lee to spot walruses, reindeer, and Arctic foxes among remains of the walrus hunting era. Hike at Kvalvågen, a bay with Cretaceous dinosaur footprints. Zodiac cruise of Hambergbukta, an attractive bay in south Spitsbergen.

Day 10
Hornsund and Gnålodden
See Hornsund with a landing at Gnålodden, known for its scenic bird cliffs and trapper’s hut.

Day 11
Return to Isfjorden
Sail back towards Isfjorden and Longyearbyen.

Day 12
Disembarkation
Disembark in Longyearbyen at 9am.
