This expedition covers one of the most pristine and legend-rich regions of the Arctic. Starting in the south, travelers will explore the legacy of Erik the Red and the Norse settlements from the year 980, visiting historic ruins such as Hvalsey Church. The voyage offers a unique contrast between relaxing in the natural hot springs of Uunartoq, surrounded by icebergs, and sailing through the spectacular Prince Christian Sound, a fjord system with 2,000-meter peaks reminiscent of fantasy landscapes.

As the M/S Balto pushes eastward, it enters a wild and little-explored coastline where ice dictates the path. The Sermilik fjord system, fed by the Helheim glacier, features a parade of monumental icebergs and jagged peaks. The journey culminates in Tasiilaq, where the Tunumiit culture keeps shamanism and the myths of the Tupilaqs alive. With only 12 passengers, this expedition ensures personal encounters with local communities and a deep immersion in the hunting and fishing traditions that define life at the edge of Greenland.

Day 1: Flight to Greenland and Embarkation
Arrival in the Historic South
Flight to Qaqortoq, the largest town in South Greenland. Board the M/S Balto to begin the southward journey through magnificent fjords.

Day 2 � 9: Expedition in Depth
Norse, Inuit, and the Iceberg Parade
During these days, we will explore the south and east coasts following a flexible route:

Culture and Tradition: Learn about the goddess Sedna and Inuit hunting legends. Visit sheep farms and meet local communities.
Arctic Relaxation: Time to bathe in the natural hot springs of Uunartoq facing the icebergs.
Viking History: Sail through Eriksfjord and visit Brattahlid (Erik the Red's estate) and the ruins of Hvalsey Church.
Prince Christian Sound: Scenic navigation through this extraordinary fjord system surrounded by 2,000-meter peaks.
Wild East Coast: Days sailing along a pristine coastline, observing drifting icebergs and glacier fronts plunging into the sea. Possible stop at Umivik Bay.
Sermilik Fjord: Exploration of this 90 km long fjord. Visit to Tiilerilaaq village and hikes with views of the giant icebergs from the Helheim glacier.
Tasiilaq: Immersion in the largest settlement in the east. Discovery of local art, Tupilaqs, and Inuit spirituality.

Day 10: Kulusuk � Keflav�k
Back to Iceland
Disembark in Kulusuk and transfer to the airport for the flight to Keflav�k. Check into the hotel in Iceland (included in the package).

Day 11: Homeward Bound
End of the Adventure
Breakfast and farewells to continue the journey home or onward for new adventures.
