This 14-day expedition offers a select few the opportunity to witness one of nature's most tender moments: newborn polar bear cubs introducing themselves to the Arctic world. Located in Wapusk National Park, the heart of the world’s largest polar bear denning region, this photo safari provides unprecedented access to mothers and their cubs as they take their first steps in the snow.

Guests will stay at the Newborn Polar Bear Cub Lodge, a refurbished naval communications base south of Churchill that operates entirely off-grid. Exploration is conducted in heated tracked vehicles, with expert guides scouting for dens on snowmobiles to ensure optimal viewing. Beyond polar bears, the itinerary includes opportunities to photograph caribou, ptarmigan, and the Northern Lights. The journey also encompasses educational talks at Polar Bears International and a tour of Churchill’s state-of-the-art Northern Studies Centre.

Day 1: Arrive in Winnipeg
Arrival and Expedition Briefing
Arrive in Winnipeg and transfer to your airport hotel. Meet your Expedition Leader and fellow travelers. Participate in a clothing rental exchange if needed, followed by an evening briefing with appetizers and drinks.

Day 2: Flight to Churchill
Gateway to the Arctic and Cultural Experience
Fly to Churchill in the morning and have lunch at a local restaurant. Spend the evening at the Aurora Yurt for a private cultural experience with wine and cheese, with a chance to see the Northern Lights. Overnight in Churchill.

Day 3: Churchill Education and Travel to Lodge
National Park Briefings and Evening Train
Visit the Parks Canada Visitor Centre and Polar Bears International for talks about Wapusk National Park and the local bears. After a group dinner, transfer to the station to board the evening train to Chesnaye. Continue to the Newborn Polar Bear Cub Lodge with your guide.

Days 4-11: Mother Bear & Newborn Cubs
Denning Habitat Exploration and Wildlife Photography
Spend several days witnessing mother polar bears and their cubs in their natural habitat. Guides scout for dens on snowmobiles and relay coordinates to the heated, tracked vans. Enjoy visits to known sites and seek out new denning locations. Photograph caribou, ptarmigan, and the Northern Lights when conditions permit.

Day 12: Churchill Return and Town Tour
Northern Studies Centre and Eco-Facility Tour
Transfer back to Churchill for a town tour and group lunch. Visit the Northern Studies Centre for a tour of their state-of-the-art facility. Enjoy free time for souvenir shopping before an overnight stay in Churchill.

Day 13: Return to Winnipeg
Morning Flight and Final Night
Enjoy a group breakfast before transferring to the airport for your flight back to Winnipeg. Overnight at a Winnipeg hotel.

Day 14: Return Home
Conclusion of Expedition
