Northern and eastern Iceland are characterized by small villages, dramatic coastlines, narrow fjords, and geothermal areas. This expedition offers a unique opportunity to get to know the remotest regions after most tourism has halted, allowing guests to enjoy landscapes of northern lights, volcanoes, and mountains in their purest state. The voyage concept is designed to offer adventure regardless of the weather, using inland bus excursions when the sea is rough, always focusing on hiking led by expert guides.
Throughout the journey, hidden gems such as the Arctic Circle on Grimsey Island and the powerful Dettifoss waterfall will be visited. The eastern fjords, still untouched, offer spectacular settings like Borgarfjörður Eystri, shrouded in legends of the elf queen. Each day combines sailing (when conditions allow) with the exploration of rich local geology and culture, ensuring a complete immersion into the "heart of nature" in Iceland.
Highlights:
Chance to observe the Northern Lights under clear skies.
Guided walk to cross the Arctic Circle on Grimsey Island.
Humpback and minke whale watching in Skjálfandi Bay.
Visit to Dettifoss, Europe's most powerful waterfall.
Exploration of Ásbyrgi Canyon and the Arctic Henge monument.

This itinerary is a tentative outline of what you’ll experience on this voyage; please be aware that no specific itinerary can be guaranteed.
