Day 1: Longyearbyen (Svalbard), Norway
Embarkation and early exploration
Longyearbyen is surrounded by steep mountains and several glaciers. Be sure to visit the Svalbard museum as a break between activities like summer dogsledding or cruising to the abandoned Russian city of Pyramiden. Board the ship and set sail in the evening.

Days 2-4: Exploring Svalbard – Captain’s Choice
Pioneering history and wildlife abundance
Wildlife abounds throughout the archipelago of Svalbard. Our expedition leaders will determine possible landings each day for all-out explorations. Keep your eyes on the water for whale fins, and look for the elusive polar bear, puffins, reindeer, Arctic terns and foxes.

Day 5: Greenland Sea Scenic Navigation
Prime whale-watching waters
Crossing the Greenland Sea immerses you in wide horizons and prime whale-watching waters. July often brings minke, humpback, and fin whales—occasionally even blues—feeding in the nutrient-rich depths. This serene passage offers time to reflect on the Arctic’s scale.

Day 6: Jan Mayen Island – Captain’s Choice
Volcanic outpost and Beerenberg
Few travelers ever set foot on Jan Mayen, a volcanic outpost adrift in the Arctic Ocean. Dominated by Beerenberg, the world’s northernmost active volcano, the island’s glaciers cascade to the sea. Landings here are a true expedition prize.

Day 7: Fjords of Greenland — Captain’s Choice
Vast tundra, immense glaciers, and deep fjords
A once-in-a-lifetime adventure is yours to have on the largest island in the world, Greenland. From an aerial view, the fjord systems link together like the roots of a massive tree. Landscapes include enormous icebergs and glaciers.

Days 8-9: Ittoqqortoormiit, Greenland / Scoresby Sound, Greenland – Captain’s Choice
The world’s largest fjord system and Inuit culture
The ship calls at Ittoqqortoormiit, a remote settlement located at Scoresby Sound. Sheer mountains rise above glassy channels, where icebergs the size of cathedrals drift. Zodiac excursions bring you close to calving glaciers or wildlife such as musk oxen.

Day 10: Crossing the Arctic Circle – Captain’s Choice
A memorable travel milestone
Few travel milestones are as memorable as crossing the fabled Arctic Circle. As your ship sails north, you join the ranks of explorers who have ventured into these high latitudes. Many mariners celebrate this passage with the lighthearted tradition of becoming a “Blue Nose.”

Day 11: Dynjandi Waterfall (Isafjordur), Iceland
The crowning jewel of the Westfjords
Imagine standing before the majestic Dynjandi waterfall in Iceland. Navigate the serene waters at the base of Dynjandi, getting an unparalleled view from a genuinely unique angle via a possible Zodiac safari. This is a chance to write your chapter in the epic saga of discovery.

Day 12: Reykjavík, Iceland
Disembarkation and departure
Arrive in the cosmopolitan and charming capital of Iceland. Kaleidoscopic views await you at the Harpa Concert Hall. Disembarkation begins shortly after arrival.
