Explore the spectacular contrasts of Iceland on a comprehensive circumnavigation aboard the Ultramarine. From the iconic Kirkjufell mountain in Snaefellsnes and the wild Westfjords, to thunderous northern waterfalls, eastern glacier lagoons, and the abundant wildlife of the Westman Islands.

Ends: Reykjavík, Iceland
Language: English speaking voyage
Embark on an in-depth circumnavigation of Iceland, a land of unmatched geological contrasts, beginning in the vibrant capital of Reykjavik. The expedition initially ventures into the scenic Snaefellsnes Peninsula, a miniature microcosm of the country's wonders, featuring rugged lava fields, the iconic Kirkjufell mountain, and quaint fishing villages. Sailing northward, the ship explores the remote and wild Westfjords—often called Iceland's best-kept secret—where the towering cliffs of Látrabjarg harbor thousands of nesting seabirds, and Zodiac boats provide access to pristine bays and isolated island farms like Vigur.
The journey continues along the iconic Diamond Circle route in Northern and Eastern Iceland, revealing colossal waterfalls such as Dettifoss and the hexagonal basalt columns of Aldeyjarfoss, alongside the boiling mud pots and pseudocraters of Mývatn. After achieving the polar milestone of crossing the Arctic Circle at the small island of Grímsey, the voyage heads toward the majestic landscapes of East Iceland and Vatnajökull National Park. Here, overland excursions allow travelers to take a guided glacier hike in Skaftafell, cruise among drifting icebergs in Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, and walk the black sands of Diamond Beach, before concluding with exceptional puffin and whale watching in the volcanic Westman Islands archipelago.
