Shore excursions are the backbone of almost all itineraries, with most ships making landfall at least once every day once they reach their destination. The weather plays a huge role in your daily itinerary, although given the sheer array of fantastic landing sites all over there are plenty of options your Captain and Expedition Leader can choose from. On-shore excursions allow you to visit scientific research stations, communities, prominent wildlife colonies and take hikes to elevated viewing points for fantastic photography.

On board the Zodiac you will discover a world of possibilities; accessing the most exclusive landing sites, cruising the coast in search of wildlife or simply enjoying a tour in the calm of the polar regions in search of marine wildlife or bird colonies.
The blue ice an its intimate presence is experienced at its best on zodiac tours.

Live aboard a traditional sailing ship for an amazing week exploring the natural wonders of Scoresby Sound in East Greenland. Operating in one of the most remote places on Earth, this expedition navigates the world's largest fjord system, surrounded by untouched natural phenomena such as glaciers, drifting iceberg palaces, and sheer granite cliffs. The voyage begins with a flight from Reykjavík to Constable Point, followed by an evening visit to Ittoqqortoormiit, the northernmost settlement on the east coast of Greenland, where 300 residents preserve a traditional subsistence hunting lifestyle.
Throughout the sailing journey, guests will discover historical sites at Hekla Havn, navigate the dramatic channels of Føhnfjord and Rødefjord, and gaze upon the 2,000-meter sheer granite walls of the majestic Øfjord. Guided hikes across Harefjord and the Bear Islands (Jyttes Havn) provide opportunities to spot grazing muskoxen, Arctic hares, and birdlife in their natural habitat. Guests can enjoy a unique Arctic sea swim at 71°N, evening beach bonfires under the midnight light, and unforgettable photography among floating frozen giants.

Day 1: Reykjavik - Constable Point - Ittoqqortoormiit
Flight to the Arctic and cultural visit
Fly from Reykjavik Domestic Airport to Constable Point in Greenland, an airfield on Hurry Inlet. Embark the schooner, attend safety briefings, and sail toward Ittoqqortoormiit. Spend the evening meeting locals in this remote settlement where 300 residents make their living by subsistence hunting.
Day 2: Sailing in Scoresbysund - Hekla Havn
Iceberg palaces and historic Inuit sites
Sail west through Scoresby Sound among giant drifting iceberg palaces calved from the Inland Ice. Anchor at Hekla Havn on Denmark Ø, the site of an ancient Inuit settlement and 19th-century scientific camp, followed by an evening walk ashore.
Day 3: Sailing - Føhnfjord / Rødefjord
Basalt peaks and granite walls
Navigate west through narrow Føhnfjord with Gåseland’s basalt mountains on the port side and Milne Land’s 2,000-meter granite cliffs on the starboard side. Spend the afternoon near the vibrant shores of Red Island.
Day 4: Rødefjord - Harefjord
Cruising the Red Sandstone Fjord
Explore the red sandstone shores of Red Island before sailing north through Rødefjord, often filled with massive icebergs and drifting ice crusts. Arrive in Harefjord in the late afternoon to set anchor for the night.
Day 5: Sailing - Øfjord / Jyttes Havn
Spectacular fjord walls and sailing
Sail east through the majestic Øfjord, framed by towering granite walls rising 2,000 meters straight from the sea. Midday breezes usually allow the ship to set sail. Arrive in the late afternoon at the picturesque anchorage of Jyttes Havn in the Bear Islands.
Day 6: Hiking around Jytteshavn
Tundra hikes, polar swim, and beach bonfire
Spend the day hiking around Jytteshavn and the Bear Islands or the northern tip of Milne Land. Try a sea swim at 71°N where summer water temperatures can reach 13°C. Enjoy a meal onboard followed by a cozy beach bonfire with storytelling.
Day 7: Sailing - Back to Constable Point
Archipelago views and giant frozen titans
Sail through the channel between the Bear Islands and Milne Land with breathtaking views of the archipelago. Capture photos of giant floating icebergs during our final evening before anchoring off Constable Point.
Day 8: Constable Point - Reykjavik
Disembarkation and return flight
Enjoy a final breakfast onboard, write in the ship logbook, and disembark the schooner. Board the charter aircraft at Constable Point for the return flight to Reykjavik Domestic Airport.
