The human exploration of Scoresby Sound is but a brushstroke upon a tremendous and exuberant canvas on one of the oldest places in the world. We propose to seek out its secrets, and reveal them, with you. It is said that there are two phases in life: life before Greenland and life after Greenland. Greenland is the portal through which one passes and cannot pass back through: whatever you think Greenland is, it’s more, its bigger, and grander. This expedition will lay bare Greenland’s secrets in an unparralled setting. The journey provides an opportunity to disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with staggering natural beauty, supported by professional coaching and educational lectures on board.

Day to day life on board is exciting yet easy-going. Guests gather in the bright and comfortable main saloon, equipped with a bar and library, which serves as the perfect space to discuss the upcoming route over a hearty breakfast or share life experiences. The vessel also features a well-sized onboard sauna, serving as the perfect refuge after polar activities. The sailing route follows the conditions given by nature, ensuring the best use of time to glide past towering icebergs, explore deep fjord systems, and land on red sandstone shores. Binoculars are always kept close to hand to scout for regional wildlife throughout this vast, untouched Arctic wilderness.

Highlights:
Sail on an elegant 50-meter three-masted tall ship through remote polar seas.
Explore the unique Red Island and land directly on its red sandstone shore.
Navigate through the awesome Øfjord with towering granite walls rising 2000 meters from the sea.
Hike in and around Jyttes Havn on the Bear Islands, known as the Arctic Riviera.
Relax in a well-sized onboard sauna after a day of remote Arctic exploration.

Day 2: Sun Glacier and Giant Icebergs
Sailing among drifting palaces of ice
Experience sunrise at Sun Glacier. We spend the day sailing west, moving between magnificent palaces of icebergs that gently drift under the continuous influence of the cold arctic waters.

Day 3: Red Island and Rødefjord
Landing on sandstone shores and navigating ice crusts
Get up close to the Red Island and enjoy a land excursion on the unique red sandstone shore. The journey then continues north through Rødefjord, a body of water that is often filled with a challenging layer of ice crust.

Day 4: Arctic Wildlife Search
Scouting for regional muskoxen and snow hares
Spend the day searching the terrain for regional Arctic wildlife. We will look for muskoxen, snow hares, and grouse. If we are lucky, we will attempt to spot the elusive Gyrfalcon, which are well known to live and nest in this remote polar region.

Day 5: Sailing Through Øfjord
Staggering granite walls rising 2000 meters from the sea
Sailing continues on day 5 through the awesome Øfjord. This section displays staggering mountain peaks and massive granite walls that rise close to 2000 meters up in either direction, straight out from the open sea.

Day 6: Jyttes Havn and Bear Islands
Hiking in the region known as the Arctic Riviera
Arrive at the area known as the Arctic Riviera, where we can hike in and around Jyttes Havn on the Bear Islands. With your feet firmly on the ground, you can really appreciate how special and unique it is to explore this wilderness.

Day 7: Return to Constable Point
Long sail as the archipelago fades into the distance
Take in the huge vistas of the archipelago as it slowly fades away into the distance. By the end of this long sail, the vessel will be securely in position at Constable Point, ready for the scheduled flight on the following morning.

Day 8: Disembarkation and Flight to Reykjavik
Final charter flight back to Iceland
We disembark S/V Linden for the last time to catch our return flight back to Reykjavik Domestic Airport. The adventures of the polar expedition begin to sink in and your life after Greenland begins. We say goodbye to each other, not forever, just until the next time we sail!
