The "Conservation Journey®: Beluga Whales" is a uniquely immersive 6-night expedition that pairs world-class adventure with profound marine science education. Guests have the rare privilege of traveling alongside Jaclyn Aubin, a leading cetacean scientist from the Raincoast Conservation Foundation, gaining deep insights into the biology and ecology of the hundreds of beluga whales that gather in Churchill’s estuary.

The comprehensive itinerary features diverse aquatic experiences, including kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding among playful belugas and exploring the estuary by Zodiac. Land-based highlights include a full-day Tundra Buggy® adventure in the Churchill Wildlife Management Area to search for subarctic wildlife and a visit to the historic Prince of Wales Fort. Day 1: Winnipeg Arrival
Zoo Tour and Specialist Welcome
Arrive in Winnipeg and check into your hotel located at the airport. Enjoy a tour of the Assiniboine Park Conservancy and Zoo, followed by a welcome reception hosted by a Frontiers North Interpretive Guide.

Day 2: Churchill and Marine Science
Flight North and Expert Presentation
Take an early morning flight to Churchill. Participate in a tour of the town and surrounding area. In the evening, attend an exclusive presentation from a renowned beluga whale researcher and marine mammal scientist. Overnight at a Churchill hotel.

Day 3: Estuary Exploration
Kayaking and Cultural History
Spend the morning kayaking among the beluga whales in their natural habitat. In the afternoon, visit the Itsanitaq Museum to see Inuit collections and the Parks Canada Visitor Centre. Overnight at a Churchill hotel.

Day 4: Zodiacs and Research Hubs
River Tours and Coastal Hiking
Embark on a guided Zodiac tour of the Churchill River to observe beluga whales. Attend a cultural presentation from a local resident and tour the Churchill Northern Studies Centre. End the day with a scenic coastal hike. Overnight at a Churchill hotel.

Day 5: Forts and Working Dogs
Prince of Wales Fort and Wildlife Conservation
Experience a dog carting ride and interpretive program on Métis culture. Discover hundreds of belugas on a boat tour and take a guided walking tour of the historic Prince of Wales Fort. Visit the Polar Bears International House in the evening. Overnight at a Churchill hotel.

Day 6: Tundra Buggy® Expedition and Return
Wildlife Search and Flight South
Spend a full day exploring the Churchill Wildlife Management Area on a Tundra Buggy® searching for subarctic wildlife. In the evening, take the return flight to Winnipeg and check into your hotel.
