Shore excursions are the backbone of almost all itineraries, with most ships making landfall at least once every day once they reach their destination. The weather plays a huge role in your daily itinerary, although given the sheer array of fantastic landing sites all over there are plenty of options your Captain and Expedition Leader can choose from. On-shore excursions allow you to visit scientific research stations, communities, prominent wildlife colonies and take hikes to elevated viewing points for fantastic photography.

On board the Zodiac you will discover a world of possibilities; accessing the most exclusive landing sites, cruising the coast in search of wildlife or simply enjoying a tour in the calm of the polar regions in search of marine wildlife or bird colonies.

It is not uncommon to meet curious seals, or humpback whales feeding.

Join an ultimate 22-day Southern Ocean expedition exploring the world's greatest wildlife havens and most remote landscapes. The journey begins in Ushuaia with a pre-cruise hotel stay before setting sail for the Falkland / Malvinas Islands, a pristine archipelago hosting five penguin species and the world's largest Black-browed Albatross colony. Exploring across East and West Falkland / Malvinas, travelers will experience white sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs, and the historic capital of Stanley, blending maritime heritage with raw natural beauty.
The expedition continues to South Georgia Island, celebrated as the 'Serengeti of the Southern Ocean' for its unparalleled wildlife density. Among snow-capped peaks and glaciers, millions of King Penguins, Southern Elephant Seals, and Fur Seals crowd beaches such as Salisbury Plain and St Andrews Bay, alongside the historic resting place of Sir Ernest Shackleton at Grytviken. Crossing the Antarctic Convergence, six days are dedicated to exploring the Antarctic Peninsula, featuring daily Zodiac cruises, shore landings among massive icebergs, and optional sea kayaking excursions before crossing the Drake Passage back to Ushuaia.

Day 1: Ushuaia, Argentina
Arrival in Tierra del Fuego
Arrive in Ushuaia, surrounded by the Martial Mountains. Transfer to your assigned hotel for the first night. Meet your fellow voyagers and expedition guides over a welcome dinner at the hotel.
Day 2: Ushuaia
Embarkation at Ushuaia port
Enjoy a free morning to explore Ushuaia before transferring to the cruise port for embarkation. Settle into your cabin and join the expedition team in the Observation Lounge as we set sail along the Beagle Channel toward the Falkland / Malvinas Islands.
Day 3: At Sea
Sailing the South Atlantic
Ease into ship life with educational lectures on the biology and history of the Falkland / Malvinas Islands. Scan the skies for Black-browed Albatrosses and petrels, and watch for Orca and Sei Whales from the open decks.
Day 4-5: Falkland Islands
Sub-Antarctic island sanctuary
Two days exploring the remote islands of the Falkland / Malvinas archipelago. Observe five penguin species, visit the world's largest Black-browed Albatross colony at Steeple Jason, walk among fur seals on Carcass Island, and explore the historic capital of Stanley.

Sailing toward South Georgia
Relax on board while sailing east toward South Georgia. Attend expert lectures and scan for cetaceans. On the afternoon of Day 7, ship cruise past the dramatic 75-meter high Shag Rocks, an important breeding site for South Georgia Shags and feeding cetaceans.
Day 8-11: South Georgia
Wildlife oasis of the Southern Ocean
Four flexible days exploring South Georgia. Visit world-famous sites including Salisbury Plain, St Andrews Bay, and Gold Harbour to witness colonies of over a million King Penguins and Southern Elephant Seals. Visit Grytviken to pay respects at Sir Ernest Shackleton's grave and tour the historic whaling station.
Day 12-13: At Sea
Crossing the Scotia Sea
Steam southward through the Scotia Sea toward Antarctica. Attend Antarctic-focused lectures, watch for the first towering icebergs, and enjoy more than 20 hours of daylight as we enter polar waters.
Day 14-19: Antarctica
Exploring the Seventh Continent
Six days of polar exploration across the Antarctic Peninsula. Enjoy daily landings, Zodiac cruises, and hikes at sites such as Elephant Island, Brown Bluff, Deception Island, Cierva Cove, Petermann Island, Port Lockroy, Paradise Bay, and Cuverville Island among thriving penguin rookeries and icebergs.

Cross the famous Drake Passage en route to Ushuaia. Relax after your Antarctic adventures, watch for whales and seabirds, and share final memories with fellow voyagers.
