Shore excursions are the backbone of almost all itineraries, with most ships making landfall at least once every day once they reach their destination. The weather plays a huge role in your daily itinerary, although given the sheer array of fantastic landing sites all over there are plenty of options your Captain and Expedition Leader can choose from. On-shore excursions allow you to visit scientific research stations, communities, prominent wildlife colonies and take hikes to elevated viewing points for fantastic photography.

The photography workshops are composed of onboard lectures and practical activities led by dedicated expedition guide. Each session is meant to give you additional skills you can put into immediate practice out in nature.
You'll become more familiar with your own camera equipment while also learning best practices for taking pictures of moving wildlife and wide-open terrain in typical polar conditions, such as dim lighting and falling snow.

On board the Zodiac you will discover a world of possibilities; accessing the most exclusive landing sites, cruising the coast in search of wildlife or simply enjoying a tour in the calm of the polar regions in search of marine wildlife or bird colonies.

Day 1: Ushuaia

Often described as 'the End of the World', the city carries the reputation well with its moody weather and dramatic surroundings, serving as the perfect starting point.
Day 2-3: Day at sea

Day 4-6: Antarctic Peninsula
The Antarctica Dream
Among captivating glaciers, majestic icebergs and snowy islands, the Antarctic Peninsula is where most visitors to the White Continent live their Antarctica dream. It's the most accessible part, with scientific bases and incredible scenery, like the photogenic Lemaire Channel. Shore excursions might include Mikkelsen Harbour, where gentoo penguins and Antarctic Weddell seals haul out.
Day 7-8: Day at sea
Towards the Southern Islands
Enjoy your time at sea to relax after the intensity of Antarctica. Use the observation decks to spot whales or seabirds following the ship's wake. Onboard lectures continue to delve into the ecology and history of the regions you will visit next.
Day 9-10: South Georgia
The Galapagos of the Poles
South Georgia has a number of landing sites with tens of thousands of King Penguins and gentoo penguins, making up some of the largest populations in the world alongside elephant seals. Among its remarkable sites is Grytviken, the historic whaling station where legendary British explorer Ernest Shackleton is laid to rest.
Day 11-12: Day at sea
Heading to the Falklands
Continue enjoying the onboard services as the ship sails west. It is an excellent time to review your photographs with the experts or simply rest in the common areas as you approach the Falkland archipelago.
Day 13: Port Stanley
A British Outpost
Port Stanley, on East Falkland, is the tiny capital of the Falkland Islands and is small enough to get around on foot. The Historic Dockyard Museum is devoted to maritime history and exploration. Magellanic penguins gather on the beach at nearby Gypsy Cove, and sea lions and dolphins frolic in the harbour.
Day 14: Saunders Island
Sanctuary for Birds and Dolphins
Black-browed albatross grace the skies over this remote Falkland Island, while Commerson's dolphins play in its waters. The island is also a sanctuary for rockhopper penguins and imperial cormorants. Hiking through the moss-covered terrain unveils beautiful wildflowers like pink-petalled Felton's.
Day 15-17: Day at sea
Sailing Northward
Final days at sea heading towards the mainland. Take the opportunity for one last enjoy of the sauna, hot tub, or the expedition team's closing talks. The transition from polar waters to more temperate climates marks the final stretch of this great voyage.

Arrival in Argentina’s cosmopolitan capital, known for its diverse neighbourhoods and vibrant cafe culture. From the colourful La Boca district to the elegance of Recoleta, the city offers a spectacular ending. The ship docks in the modern Puerto Madero barrio, marking the end of the expedition.
