Set sail for an adventure like no other following in the wake of Captain Cook as you cross the Antarctic Circle, home to the midnight sun and towering icebergs. On board a nimble and ice-strengthened expedition ship, you will leave Ushuaia and civilization behind to journey towards the hauntingly beautiful icy wilderness of the Antarctic Continent. The experience offers the thrill of witnessing seals lying on ice floes, whales breaching the frigid waters, and penguins patrolling the rocky shoreline in vast numbers, with jaw-dropping views witnessed by only a few.

This extended expedition takes advantage of extra days on the Antarctic Peninsula, ensuring more landings and visits to remote locations to witness untouched beauty. Through Zodiac cruises in ice-filled bays and shore excursions on the continent itself, passengers achieve total immersion in the environment. The journey is enriched by lectures from polar experts and the opportunity to participate in citizen science projects, documenting this unique ecosystem while sailing to latitudes where daylight is almost endless during the high summer.

Highlights:
Experience nearly endless daylight crossing the Antarctic Circle at latitude 66°33’S.
Extended time on the Antarctic Peninsula with a higher number of landings and explorations.
Daily Zodiac cruises among sculpted icebergs and glacier fronts.
Wildlife watching including whales, various seal species, and penguins.
Participation in citizen science projects such as whale identification for Happy Whale.

Day 1: Arrive in Ushuaia, Argentina
Gateway to Antarctica
Welcome to Ushuaia. Upon arrival at the airport, enjoy the included transfer to your hotel. You will have free time to explore the southernmost city in the world before meeting the local team and fellow travelers for an 'icebreaker' briefing about the adventure starting tomorrow.

Day 2: Embark in Ushuaia, Argentina
The journey begins
Enjoy free time in the morning before boarding in the afternoon. Once settled, we will begin sailing through the Beagle Channel towards the Drake Passage. Prepare your camera to capture incredible landscapes as we say goodbye to South America.

Day 3-4: At Sea, Drake Passage
Crossing legendary waters
Over these two days, you will get to know your Expedition Team and the lecture program will begin. Our experts will share knowledge about the region's wildlife, history, and geology. You can spot seabirds from the outer decks or visit the bridge to search for the first icebergs.

Day 5-8: South Shetland Islands & Antarctica
First Antarctic encounters
We will begin explorations via Zodiac cruises and landings. Each site offers the opportunity to get close to Adélie, Gentoo, and Chinstrap penguin colonies, as well as Weddell, elephant, and leopard seals. The ship will navigate among imposing glaciers and snow-capped peaks.

Day 9-10: The Antarctic Circle
To the ends of the Earth
Weather and ice conditions permitting, we will celebrate crossing the fabled latitude 66°33’S. We will travel past colossal, beautifully sculpted icebergs to a point on Earth where only a few travelers have sailed. This is home to Weddell seals specially adapted to this icy environment.

Day 11: South Shetland Islands & Antarctica
Continuous exploration
As the ship begins heading north, we will continue with Zodiac cruises and landings to maximize opportunities to witness the peninsula’s wildlife and capture perfect photographs of animals in their natural habitat.

Day 12-13: At Sea, Drake Passage
Reflection and farewell
The final leg of the journey offers an opportunity to reflect on the encounters. We will enjoy a slideshow featuring images captured by our Expedition Photographer and celebrate the end of the adventure with a final special dinner with the team and fellow travelers.

NOTE: Embracing the unexpected is part of the legacy—and excitement—of expedition travel. When traveling in extremely remote regions, your expedition staff must allow the sea, the ice and the weather to guide route and itinerary details.
