Our Atlantic Odyssey visits some of the most remote islands in the world, following the migratory paths of birds, including Arctic terns and long-tailed skuas, while whales, dolphins, and flying fish leap, crest, and glide above the waves of the high seas. Starting from Ushuaia, the voyage sails the mountainous Beagle Channel toward South Georgia, aiming to visit some of the world’s top king penguin rookeries and historic whaling stations. The quest continues through the westerlies to approach the great Gough Island and the remote archipelago of Tristan da Cunha, famed for its plentiful bird populations, yellow-nosed albatrosses, and sub-Antarctic fur seals exploring rarely visited spots.
As the vessel enters subtropical seas, guests land at Saint Helena Island to enjoy the local culture, pleasant climate, and endemic bird life, with opportunities to visit Longwood House or snorkel the shallows. The journey then sails along the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, crossing the equator with excellent opportunities for stargazing on the aft deck under the equatorial sky. Sailing past Ilhéus do Rombo and Sao Filipe on Fogo Island, the expedition offers great chances to spot Western Palearctic species before final disembarkation in Praia, Cape Verde, where history and folk music conclude an unparalleled natural history adventure.

NOTE: Embracing the unexpected is part of the legacy—and excitement—of expedition travel. When traveling in extremely remote regions, your expedition staff must allow the sea, the ice and the weather to guide route and itinerary details. This itinerary is a tentative outline of what you’ll experience on this voyage; please be aware that no specific itinerary can be guaranteed.
