This expedition is specially designed for marine wildlife enthusiasts, coinciding with the time of year when whale watching is at its most spectacular. Antarctica’s nutrient-rich waters attract large numbers of humpback whales feeding on krill, providing an unparalleled natural spectacle. In addition to these ocean giants, travelers may spot Orcas and Minke whales, alongside iconic colonies of Chinstrap and Gentoo penguins that inhabit the region’s rugged coastlines.

The journey traverses the volcanic geography of the South Shetland Islands and the majestic channels of the Antarctic Peninsula, dotted with monumental icebergs and glaciers. Onboard, polar experts share their knowledge of the continent’s ecology and history, while Zodiac excursions allow for safe and close encounters with wildlife. It is an immersive opportunity to connect with pure nature, participating in citizen science programs and exploring historic sites and active scientific bases.

Day 1: Arrive and Explore in Ushuaia
Gateway to the end of the world
After a friendly welcome at the airport, we'll transfer you to a premium hotel resort nestled in Patagonian nature. Take time to unwind or explore the southernmost city in the world, Ushuaia. Our optional evening briefing is your opportunity to meet fellow explorers.

Day 2: All Aboard!
Departure day
Spend the morning relaxing at the hotel, visiting a museum, or exploring shops in Ushuaia before a mid-afternoon escort to the ship. Meet the Expedition Team, get settled in, and attend safety briefings followed by the Captain’s welcome dinner.

Day 3–4: Drake Passage
Crossing the Southern Ocean
Join Polar Experts as they share knowledge of Antarctica’s wildlife and history. Participate in our pioneering Citizen Science program or watch for seabirds and rarely seen wildlife as we cross the Antarctic Convergence into cooler temperatures.

Day 5–6: South Shetland Islands
Volcanic geology and penguins
The South Shetlands offer unique volcanic geology and natural beauty. Expect a display of mountains, glaciers, and wildlife including Chinstrap and Gentoo penguins. As it is feeding season, expect Humpback whales to join your daily adventures.

Day 7–8: Antarctica (and Whales) Await
Navigating wildlife-rich waters
On the Antarctic Peninsula, we’ll explore stunning bays and historic landing sites. We maneuver through majestic channels passing glorious icebergs, looking for giant Humpback whales feeding on krill, as well as Orcas, Minkes, and various seals.

Day 9–10: Drake Passage
Heading north
We leave this magical place and head north across the legendary Drake Passage. Celebrate the conclusion of our expedition with a special slideshow and a final meal together before reaching South America.

Day 11: Ushuaia Disembarkation
Conclusion of the journey
We disembark in the morning with huge smiles. You can catch a flight to Buenos Aires or stay in Ushuaia for more sights and adventure.
