Aboard the nimble Ocean Nova, you will explore this pristine wilderness as nature awakens from its winter slumber. The snowy landscapes provide the perfect backdrop for unforgettable encounters with Adélie, Gentoo, and Chinstrap penguin colonies busy with courtship and nest-building. From the outer decks or during Zodiac cruises, you can spot leopard seals resting on ice floes and majestic seabirds like the iconic wandering albatross soaring above.

This expedition offers Antarctica in its most unspoiled state, with pristine conditions that few are privileged to witness. In addition to wildlife watching, passengers can participate in Citizen Science projects to contribute to research on the Antarctic ecosystem. Day 1: Arrive in Ushuaia, Argentina
Gateway to Antarctica
Upon arrival at Ushuaia Airport, take the included transfer to your hotel. Tonight, you will have the opportunity to meet your fellow travelers and the local team during an 'icebreaker' briefing. Enjoy free time to explore the world's southernmost city or taste classic Argentinian flavors at local restaurants before departure.

Day 2: Embark in Ushuaia, Argentina
The journey begins
Enjoy a leisurely morning before your transfer to the port to board the Ocean Nova. After settling into your cabin and meeting the Expedition Team, we will sail through the historic Beagle Channel southward. From the outer decks, you can capture images of the Andes Mountains as we head toward Antarctic waters.

Day 3-4: At sea, Drake Passage
Crossing the Roaring Forties
Spend two days navigating the legendary Drake Passage. Participate in the onboard lecture program where experts share insights on the region's history and geology. You can visit the bridge to see the Captain in action and scout for the first icebergs or seabirds following the vessel.

Day 5-8: South Shetland Islands & Antarctica
The heart of the white continent
We will explore bays, channels, and landing sites rich in wildlife. Daily Zodiac excursions and hikes to Gentoo, Chinstrap, and Adélie penguin colonies are scheduled. You will have the chance to see leopard seals and humpback whales up close. Optional activities like ice camping or snowshoeing will be available for those seeking more immersion.

Day 9-10: At sea, Drake Passage
Reflection and return
Begin the return journey to Ushuaia, crossing the Drake Passage once again. This is the time to reflect on your adventure, attend final lectures, and enjoy a slideshow of images captured by the Expedition Photographer during the voyage. We will celebrate with a final special meal with the team and fellow travelers.

Day 11: Disembark in Ushuaia, Argentina
End of the expedition
After breakfast, disembark the Ocean Nova. A morning transfer to Ushuaia Airport or downtown is included. Your Antarctic expedition concludes, leaving you with memorable souvenirs of a truly remarkable adventure in the most remote corner of the planet.
